What should I show after sending the inquiry form?

You need to put the form away, say it's received, and write down when you'll be contacted. As a result of checking the markup of 202 places where the inquiry form was opened, 107 places did not find a structure to notify after sending, and 15 places ended with a single line in the notification window.

I clicked apply for consultation, but the screen remains the same.

I filled out the inquiry form and clicked the submit button, but the screen remains the same. The button has been pressed and the data has probably gone, but nothing has changed on the visitor side.

I actually counted how common it is. BlueCanvas review archiveI accessed 641 places where the target site address remained, looked for the inquiry, consultation, and quotation links on the first screen, received one page, and read the markup and inline script. There were 28 places where access failed, 265 places where the inquiry link could not be found on the first screen, and 146 places where there was no input form on the inquiry page. remainder 202 placesThis is the denominator of the numbers below.

In 107 places, no structure was found to notify after sending.

It is a place with a structure to notify 95 places that have been sent, including the first three lines, and the last two lines combined. 107 placesis where the structure was not found. Because the sample was not large, only numbers were written instead of percentages.

If you don't know it's been received, there are only two next steps you can take.

It's simple if you think about it from the sender's perspective. If the screen remains the same, there is no way to know whether the application has been accepted. Then there are only two things you can do.

  • Add the same form once more. The person in charge receives two identical inquiries, and cannot tell which is the most recent.
  • Just leave. There are more this way. Visitors who have decided to submit an inquiry are lost on the last screen.

There were 15 places where the notification window ended with a single line. The notification window disappears the moment you press the OK button, so there's nothing left to say about what you receive and when. On mobile phones, it is difficult to even see the window that appears.

Three things a completion screen should do

The completion screen is a transition device, not a design element. The following three things must come together to prevent the same inquiry from coming twice.

  1. Put the form away. If the input field you just filled in remains the same, you won't know whether it was sent.
  2. It says it has been received. Write it as a complete sentence, such as “Your inquiry has been received.”
  3. Write down when you will be contacted. If you write down the period, such as “within 1 business day,” the person waiting will not have to re-enter it.

This is how we created our cost estimate.

BlueCanvas Instant estimateIf your application is accepted, it hides the application form and opens a completion card in its place. The card contains the words “Your consultation application has been received.” and “We will contact you within one business day after confirming the quotation you have selected.” While sending, the send button is locked and the text “Receiving…” appears. 」, preventing the same application from being submitted twice.

The inquiry form is slightly different. Float the success phrase on the form, empty the input field, and then raise the screen above the inquiry area. The message returned by the server is “Your inquiry has been successfully received.” “We will contact you within 24 hours.” either way What happens after sending is displayed on the screen.

The form has not been submitted

I didn't actually submit the form because I didn't want to send my inquiry data to someone else's server. So this research is not about “what actually appears on the screen after sending?” “Is there a structure in the markup and script to notify after sending?”It only says. Since we did not count forms and subpages drawn later with JavaScript, the 107 places are not "there is no completion screen". “I couldn’t find it.”You should read it as

The measurement was made on August 30, 2026, and the timeout for 8 concurrently connected threads is 10 seconds.

A sample has not yet been collected to determine whether repeat inquiries will actually decrease after fixing the completion screen, so it is left as a hypothesis rather than a result.

Completion screen not found in 107 places

We statically identified 202 places where the inquiry form was opened. There are 107 places where no screen appears even when you press the consultation request button.

I pressed it, but the screen remains the same.

I clicked on request consultation, but the screen remains the same. When I checked the markup of 202 places where the inquiry form was opened, there were 107 places where I could not find a structure to notify after sending.

There are only two next moves

The sender has no way of knowing whether it has been received. So I either put the same form back in or just leave it. There were 15 places that ended with a single line in the notification window.

Three things a completion screen should do

The completion screen is a transition device, not a design. Put the form away, say it's accepted, and write down when to contact them.

An application text appears in the place where the form disappears.

When BlueCanvas cost estimate receives an application, it hides the form and displays an application sentence and an appointment for one business day in its place.

The form has not been submitted

I didn't submit the form, I just looked at the markup. We are currently measuring whether repeat inquiries will decrease. You can view the completion screen directly in the cost estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to create a separate completion page, or can I change it on the same screen?

Either way will work. In this survey, 45 places had separate completion page addresses, and 35 places had completion text on the same screen, so both methods were used. However, if you separate the page, it is easy to target that address as an ad conversion goal, and if you change it on the same screen, visitors will not have to go through the time of redrawing the screen. Whichever you choose, you will need to take care of removing the foam as well.

Can't we just notify you through an alert?

Not recommended. The notification window disappears the moment you press the confirmation button, so neither the receipt nor the time of contact remain on the screen. Depending on the browser, the window may be blocked from opening, and on mobile phones it is less noticeable. Opening the completion card in the same place is easier to make and provides more information.

Wouldn't it be worse if you wrote down the time of contact and couldn't keep it?

Just write down the period of time you can keep it. If “within 24 hours” is burdensome, you can write “within 1 business day” or “within 2-3 days.” If you don't write anything down, visitors will create their own standards, and the moment they exceed those standards, the inquiry will either come back in or just leave. The purpose of writing down the period is not to make a promise, but to create a standard for waiting.

Are there really 107 places without a completion screen?

no. Since the form was not actually submitted and only the markup and inline script were read, the completion screen drawn later with JavaScript cannot be confirmed using this method. So I wrote “I couldn’t find it” instead of “It’s not there.” However, the fact that there is no trace of the markup before the visitor sees it is a reason to check the spot.

You can directly click on the completion screen to see it.

When an application for a cost estimate is received, the form is hidden and in its place is an application text and a contact point of one business day. The buttons are locked while sending.
