Should I pay for my business tools monthly or annually?

If it is your first time using a tool, the order comes first. All the payment screen tells you is the discount rate, and you have to use it to find out whether it is suitable for work or not. It is not too late to pay for the year after spending one month as a monthly payment and confirming it.

Key takeaways

  • All the payment screen tells you is the discount rate. We pay for a year first without knowing yet whether it is suitable for our work or whether our employees will actually use it.
  • You only need to guess the numbers once. At the hypothetical rate of 20,000 won per month and 180,000 won per year, the two amounts become the same for 9 months, and from 10 months onwards, annual rates become cheaper.
  • If it's your first time using a tool, it's not too late to try using it on a monthly basis for a month and then pay annually to see if it's right for you.

The first thing you see on the payment screen is the discount rate.

I found a work tool. I've read the introduction, but haven't tried it yet. When you open the payment screen, next to monthly payment 「25% discount per year」This looks big. I'm going to keep using it anyway, so I'm reaching for the annual one.

I hope you stop here just once. This is because you have to choose a year's worth before you even decide whether to spend it or not.

There is only one confirmed right now

The idea that “I’ll just keep using it anyway” is not yet groundless. The screen tells you the discount rate, but you have to use it to find out the other three.

You have nothing to lose by changing the order

If this is your first time using the tool, you can check first and pay later.

  • this month — I use it as a monthly payment. See who is actually opening it, their workflow, and what features are missing.
  • next month — If correct, select the year then. After the period of use has been determined, comparing the total amount becomes meaningful.

However, whether the same discount conditions will remain the same next month? The service is determined. If it is a limited-time discount, you should take that into account when making your decision. If you start with a free trial, please check the end date and automatic payment separately.

The first thing to look at before the discount rate is whether or not you will use this tool. This is one person working with the CEO of BlueCanvas.
